Navigating the New Certify Wallet

Follow

The Certify Wallet got a big overhaul as part of our new user experience, allowing everything to be viewed all at once. Receipts and credit card expenses now combine into one organized list.

Source: How this data came in. Icons include a credit card, mobile phone (Certify Mobile), car (mileage), envelope (email), an upload icon, as well as icons for SMS, fax, and desktop entry.

Receipt: An icon will appear if a receipt was submitted. Clicking on a receipt icon will open it for review.

Date: Expense date.

Category/Details: Which category was selected, if available. Any additional details, such as department and location, will be stored here.

Vendor: Vendor for the receipt/expense, if available.

Description: Description for the receipt and or expense.

Amount: Expense amount received.

Add to an Expense Report: as an alternative to creating your report from the Home screen, you may also select your items and immediately create an expense report with them.

The Wallet also has a few new buttons. New features in the upper right-hand corner include:

Edit: edit the name of a receipt within the wallet. You may also hover over a receipt name to activate the edit feature. The Edit icon turns into a Save icon when editing is active.

Detailed View: expand all rows in the Wallet.

Upload: you can now upload a receipt directly from this screen.

Refresh: refresh your wallet directly from this screen, without refreshing your whole browser.

Merge: if a credit card expense in the wallet matches a receipt submitted to the wallet, the Merge option will visually combine them onto one line in your wallet, like an expense report. With Merge OFF, the Wallet will be shown in two sections:

The footer, on all screens, will allow you to toggle between the classic and new user experience on your own.

    Hi Raul,

Our Training Camp videos will be updated at the beginning of January to reflect the new Wallet and Home page. So far, our Knowledge Base documents are completely switched over, as well as all of our live training webinars. The Basic User webinar shows the new Certify Wallet if you would like to attend.

I'm having trouble understanding how to edit receipts without putting them into an expense report. I can't change anything on this screen except the "receipt details" field. What am I missing?

    Hello Jeff,

You are correct. The only information you can edit on a receipt before it's in the wallet or on an expense report is the "receipt details" field.

Thanks Kamara. I've adjusted, but it requires me to pay attention to the date or something before I click so that I can find that receipt in my expense report. It was nicer editing in the wallet because I could edit it and then add it knowing it was right and I had looked at it. Now it is a little more difficult to follow. Not a big deal, I've adjusted, but it would be very nice to still be able to edit all of the fields in a receipt in the wallet.

  • Avatar
    Drew Patterson

    Hello Rod,

Thank you for contacting Certify Support. You can add scanned items into the new Certify Wallet, via the upload or e-mail methods. For upload - you will first scan your items, and then save them to your computer and upload. For e-mail - you scan as a PDF or image file to an e-mail attachment and forward to data@certify.com or receipts@certify.com. Please see the following links for more details.

We have sent you an e-mail with more information as well.

how do you delete "via desktop" receipts?

    Drew Patterson

    Hello Travis,

To delete all receipts in your Certify Wallet, click on the blue # Items link in the My Certify Wallet panel. Mark the checkboxes for the receipts you would like to delete, then click Delete at the bottom of the page.

If you receive an error message, you will need to unmerge expenses by using the blue toggle at the top of the page.

Please note: Once a receipt is deleted from Certify, it cannot be recovered.

We have sent you an e-mail with more information as well.

Why can't I edit the receipts I upload via my computer? I want to be able to edit the category, the amount, and the currency. It registers everything in GBP now but some of my receipts are in USD. Please advise.

    Hi Arthur,

When receipts are added to your Certify Wallet through our Upload or Email features, our ReceiptParse technology will read the receipt and populate such information as date, amount, and category. If the incorrect information is populated, the receipt can be edited once it is added to an expense report or by using our Certify Mobile app.

To edit using Certify Mobile, select Receipts in Certify, and tap on a receipt. You can then edit the details and Save to update any changes.
